"My work explores the human body as a skin and as a symbol, and the many different nuances it can carry in a globalised society. An artwork might be inspired by a chosen pose, fleeting glance or shared reflection, or the way a coloured pattern stretches around dimpled flesh. Images are gathered from friends and strangers, bitches and lovers, or the cold hard gaze of the internet. I collect and collage using a combination of oil, printing and digital media to capture the myriad perceptions of people. Pleasing or not, in the words of Meredith Brooks, you know you wouldn’t want it any other way." |
